Between June 26 and June 29, 2023, a delegation of Dalian University of Technology (DUT) paid a visit to Belarusian State Technological University.

Cooperation between BSTU and DUT kicked off in 2015 and has been maintained through manifold events, i.e., student and staff exchange, summer schools, workshops, webinars, etc. In 2022 the parties signed a DUT-BSTU Joint Institute Agreement providing for joint training of professionals in machine building, automation and information technology.

The Joint Institute will leverage best practices of both universities to ensure innovative teaching and learning and high quality of training. The Joint Institute graduates will be well prepared for hi-tech working environments and will be in great demand on international labour market. ??

The DUT delegation had an opportunity to explore the educational programs, campus and laboratory facilities of BSTU coming over to the computer classrooms of Information Technology Faculty, laboratories of the Department of Automation of Production Processes and Electrical Engineering, Department of Machines and Apparatus of Chemical and Silicate Production, Centre of Physical and Chemical Investigation Methods, Educational and Applied Research Centre for Glass and Ceramics, BSTU Xylotheque, permanent exhibition of research developments, museum of history, Great Stone Industrial Park.

The parties discussed their cooperation prospects and development strategy of the joint institute, including teaching and learning practices, industrial training of students, etc.

Summarizing the results of their meetings and discussions the rectors of the two universities indicated their intentions to promote the Joint Institute which will serve as an excellent platform for networking and joint educational and research projects.
